In Memoriam
Fr. A. Gerard Fineran, a missionary in Brazil for 42 years, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 in Grand Coteau, La. He was 94 years old, a Jesuit for 77 years and a priest for 64 years.

Fr. Richard J. Burtschi, who developed technology to help people, died Dec. 8, 2014 in St. Louis after a long illness. He was 79 years old, a Jesuit for 53 years and a priest for 43 years

Brother Gerald J. Landry, who spent most of his ministry serving other Jesuits, died Dec. 6, 2014 of heart failure in Grand Coteau, La.

Jesuit Parishes and Retreat Centers
There are 66 Jesuit parishes and 22 retreat centers in the United States. Jesuit parishes are situated in inner cities, suburbs, rural outposts and on college campuses and Native American reservations. Jesuit retreat centers can be found in places ranging from New England's rocky coast to the foothills of the Rockies and the rustic trails of Santa Clara Valley. They are part of urban landscapes, too.
