For those seeking to deepen their relationship with God, Sacred Heart Jesuit Retreat House in Colorado is an oasis of peace. Located on 280 acres in the foothills of the Rockies, about 25 miles south of Denver and 45 miles north of Colorado Springs, the retreat center is surrounded by spectacular natural beauty and sweeping views of valleys, gentle mesas and the majestic Rocky Mountains.
The retreat house presents the perfect setting for reflection and prayer. The chapel’s simple interior lends itself to quiet spiritual contemplation. Cozy chairs and a fireplace in the great hall are ideal for shared discussions and socializing, while the dining room’s spacious layout provides ample space for large groups. Nutritious meals are prepared in the retreat house kitchen and served cafeteria style.
Since 1959, people of every faith and walk of life have come to Sacred Heart to find quiet, peace and renewed energy for daily living. Retreats are given in the Ignatian tradition by an experienced staff of Jesuits, women religious and lay spiritual directors and are open to anyone, regardless of faith affiliation. Silent retreats, including directed, private, preached and the full 30-day Spiritual Exercises, are available year-round. The retreat house offers conferences, days of prayer and spiritual direction for those seeking personal growth in faith and prayer.
Sacred Heart also collaborates with other Jesuit institutions in fostering spiritual growth for those working in apostolic activities associated with the Society of Jesus.
The Ignatian Spirituality Program of Denver offers Ignatian group retreats, individual spiritual direction, the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life, and trains spiritual directors and guides of the Spiritual Exercises.
