Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory of Houston Names New President

April 24, 2019 — Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston has named Paul Beck as its next president. Beck will assume the role on July 1, 2019, when Paul Posoli steps down after five years as president. Beck, executive director with Macquarie Group, has supported Cristo Rey Jesuit students personally and through Macquarie Group, one of the school’s 170 Corporate Work Study Program partners, since the school opened in 2009.

“I am truly humbled and honored to be stepping into this role,” Beck said. “The leadership of Father TJ Martinez, SJ, and Paul Posoli has laid the foundation of the miracle we know Cristo Rey Jesuit to be. From its inception, Cristo Rey Jesuit has been blessed with an extremely talented Board of Trustees and leadership team, teachers, students and staff who have been committed to this miracle. I look forward to working with this wonderful community."

“I will continue to advance the school’s academic achievements, increase building space to meet our growing enrollment and to help send countless young adults to college as men and women for others,” said Beck, who has had a 28-year career in the energy industry.

Paul Beck with a Cristo Rey Jesuit studentPosoli stepped in as interim president in July 2014 after founding president Fr. TJ Martinez, SJ, was diagnosed with stomach cancer. In November 2014, Fr. Martinez passed away, and after a national search, Posoli was officially named president.

Beck, who has previous experience as a board chairman at St. Catherine’s Montessori School in Houston, has a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering. June 19, 2019 - Father Paul Osterle, SJ, died June 14, 2019, in Opelousas, La. He was 91 years old, a Jesuit for almost 73 years and a priest for 60 years.
