Winter Discernment Retreats

Nov. 20, 2019 - The Jesuits USA Central and Southern (UCS) Province is hosting two opportunities for men discerning life as a Jesuit to gather and meet at the Novitiate of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Grand Coteau, La. Men can choose from one of two options:

  • December 17-21, 2019
  • January 2-6, 2020

Intended for inquirers and discerners ages 18 to 45 who wish to take a serious look at religious life, this event begins with a “come and see” day and continues with a three-day, silent retreat in the Ignatian tradition. Participants will be paired with a spiritual director for the duration of the silent retreat.

Prior to the silent retreat, participants will will learn more about Jesuit life and formation. In addition to presentations, there will be opportunities to meet, interact with and pray with Jesuit novices and men in formation.

The spirituality center grounds offer a contemplative place for the discerner to encounter the Lord and to consider his vocation. These days also offer the opportunity to experience the type of prayer and spiritual direction that is integral to Jesuit formation.

There is no charge to participate in any of these events, other than travel to the retreat location. Some financial assistance is available to those on a very limited budget.
