For more than 40 years, Brother Larry Lundin, SJ, has made financial decisions on behalf of his brother Jesuits. He served as province treasurer for the former New Orleans Province for 22 years (1990-2012), and since 2012 has served as Associate Director of Administration and Finance at the Resource Center for Religious Institutes in Washington, DC. He also serves on the finance committee for the Maryland Province.
Brother Lundin was born in Dallas on October 15, 1947. He entered the Society of Jesus on January 15, 1967, in Grand Coteau, La., and made first vows two years later. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and began managing the financial and accounting needs of his New Orleans Jesuit community. He moved to Grand Coteau in 1976 to serve as minister, treasurer and kitchen manager.
In the 1980s, Brother Lundin worked as minister, teacher and athletic business manager at Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida. He moved to the Jesuit Conference of the United States in Washington, DC, in 1984 to serve as secretary for finance. He took a short sabbatical in 1989-90 before beginning his role with the New Orleans Province.
